International Summit on the Societal Role of Meat and Livestock
With the previous two Summits held in the global north, this Australian event will add to understanding issues facing the global south.
In November 2026 the International Summit on the Societal Role of Meat and Livestock will be held in Geelong, Victoria, Australia, hosted by Marcus Oldham College.
The event consists of two days of conference with a high level of active engagement followed by an optional day of educational tours in this productive agricultural region. The Summit will provide the latest evidence relating to the major topics of human health and nutrition, and environmental and societal interaction with animal agriculture.
With the previous two Summits held in the global north, this Australian event will add to understanding issues facing the global south, the regions that will carry most of the load as global population grows to a projected 10 billion people. This summit will also provide an opportunity for delegates to examine local Australian adaptions in integrated environmental and livestock systems that may benefit other similar geographic regions.
